changing it up

As you may recall, we adopted a second cat awhile back. She was really beautiful, but so mean. She chased the Major around mercilessly and bit everyone and he lost a lot of weight because she wouldn't let him eat. They were not the best of friends.

So, we packed her up and sent her back.

It took about 3 seconds for the buddy to get all neurotic and weird again, with no Great Enemy to take up all his time.

So today, we found him a new nemesis. He is very small.

He does not have a name yet, but we are thinking of Zim. I am ZIM!

How does the psycho cat always photograph with one eye closed? IS there only one eye? It's scary how well the photos tell the story...especially that eye.

The psycho cat is actually missing an eye. She had an infection, and they were worried that it would spread to the brain, so they took out the eye. The woman at the adoption agency thinks she might actually have had brain damage that made her so unstable. This would have been good to know when we were adopting her, rather than when we were bringing her back.

but i feel really sad for the psycho cat...even if she is psycho...i hope the adoption agency is no-kill?

Not only are they no-kill, they're basically no-cage. The cats are in a free room all the time, in and out of their sleeping carriers at will. It's bigger than our apartment space. When we went by to get the baby, the girlie was there "patrolling," which is her favorite activity - going from window to window and monitoring the goings-on. She has a favorite spot under the coffee table and seems on the whole much happier than she was here. I would not feel sorry for her at all.

We have since settled on a new name/nickname pairing: Nathan Scott Phillips, AKA Bounce-Bounce.
